Conversion of Ethanol to Gasoline Using Aluminum-Pillared Bentonite Catalysts

Under the guidance of Dr. Robert Ronal Widjaya and Dr. Eng. Muhammad Kozin, S.T., M.Si. at Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), I developed aluminum-pillared bentonite catalysts for ethanol-to-gasoline conversion. My work involved preparing and modifying catalyst samples, conducting optimization experiments under various calcination temperatures, and evaluating catalytic efficiency.

Evaluating Solar Water Heater Efficiency for Household Energy Savings
During my internship at Solahart Indonesia (PT Simed Prakarsa Indonesia), I conducted a data analysis project examining household electricity consumption before and after the installation of solar water heaters. I gathered and organized field data from multiple households, analyzed trends in monthly energy use, and created detailed reports and visual summaries comparing cost savings, efficiency improvements, and emission reductions.

SIGMA XI: Research Honor Society
I conducted several independent research projects under the Sigma Xi Research Honor Society, focusing on sustainability, chemistry, and applied science. My work includes evaluating low-cost filtration materials for clean water access, developing eco-friendly soap from used cooking oil, and studying how acne-treating acids affect skin-barrier health using gelatin film models. These projects have strengthened my understanding of how science can be applied creatively to solve real-world environmental and health challenges.
